2004 Linchpin McLaren Vale Shiraz

The rich and diverse soil types of McLaren Vale, combined with the maritime influence of the St. Vincent’s gulf have a moderating effect on the mezoclimate. This extends the ripening period and intensifies the quality of the Shiraz grape. With this in mind, we have produced the Linchpin.

Colour: Dark purple hues and rich raspberry colours.

Nose: Intense aromas of dark chocolate and rich fruit.

Palate: The use of traditional open fermentation and gentle hand plunging
techniques have enhanced the concentrated fruit flavour. Soft and supple cassis
berry mouth feel, with warm and generous blueberry and blackberry flavours. This
elegant shiraz provides soft and smooth tannins, with well balanced oak
characters to finish.

Serving and Cellaring: Maturation in a careful selection of French and
American oak has resulted in a wine with genuine complexity and fine grained
tannins. Enjoy now or cellar for up to 10 years.
